Flour for Goreng Pisang and such...

Here are some methods for preparing the flour to make Goreng Pisang.

Ingredients :
1/2 cup self-raising flour
1/4 cup cornflour
1 tablespoon rice flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder salt to taste
180 ml water (or less, depends on the flour)
1 1/2 tablespoons oil

Method :
1. Sift self-raising flour, cornflour, rice flour, baking powder and salt.
2. Pour in water till a good consistency batter is formed. Not too thick and not too runny.
3. Add in the cooking oil. Mix well and leave the batter to rest for 10 minutes.
4. Heat oil. Coat the banana or sweet potatoes or yam with the batter and fry till golden brown.

Ingredients :
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 tablespoon vanilla powder
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon rum flavoring
4 ripe bananas, sliced
2 cups oil for frying

Method :
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and vanilla powder.
2. Make a well in the center, and pour in milk, egg, melted butter and rum flavoring (if desired).
3. Mix until smooth. Dip banana slices until evenly coated.
4. Heat oil in a wok and fry till golden brown.
